Team Sylvain Boudrias, P.Eng., MBA President Sylvain is the founding president of Darspec where he currently leads the engineering team. His passion for ongoing learning and his appreciation of teamwork and competition brought in from a lifetime of battle on the hockey rink, has produced an ethic that continues to empower the growing organization. A graduate of Concordia University with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sylvain is a recognized expert in water safety and security engineering and he regularly advises several companies and Canadian municipalities on the subject. As a certified AWWA trainer, he has trained hundreds of backflow device testers across Quebec. Sylvain’s commitment to the industry is reflected in his participation in several committee, including the AWWA Cross-Connection Control committee. From 2009 to 2015, he worked as the Certification Officer and Technical Consultant for the AWWA Quebec Section. He also served as the section representative to the AWWA Canadian Coordinating Cross-Connections Control Committee where he is still acting as a consultant. In June 2015, Sylvain’s leadership was recognized by the industry and he was awarded the AWWA’s prestigious George Warren Fuller Prize. Her diverse background has honed her administrative skills and made her a polished people person, treasured for her warmth and resourcefulness. As Technical Advisor, Tania uses her vast knowledge of backflow prevention devices and differential pressure gauges to help Darspec clients solve a myriad of complex technical questions. A dependable team player she steps up to the plate to meet the new and interesting challenges that confront the firm on a daily basis. Richard Bastien Technician Mr. Bastien has been a Technician at Darspec since 2010. He excels in the calibration, maintenance and repair of differential pressure gauges and is qualified to repair a wide variety of backflow prevention devices. As an avid fisherman, Richard has a deep commitment to preserving the clean water of our future. That commitment has been bolstered by a career that has included construction and excavation, pressurized water systems and safety and has ranged between industries as diverse as medical facilities and the Canadian paper industry. Richard received AWWA certification as a Backflow prevention devices tester after completing the required 40-hour training course. Since then he has completed more than a hundred backflow preventer certifications for dozens of major clients.
